Obviously I was exaggerating to make a point. The point being that I'm sure we could both agree that it would be stupid to go round and round arguing over whether or not guns should be banned every time someone is hurt or killed by a gun. There's nothing wrong with responsible gun ownership, and there's nothing wrong with responsible dog ownership. Anyone proposing a Pit Bull ban as any sort of solution isn't willing to look at the issue seriously.

Your statistics don't really have anything to do with what I said either. You might want to quote the right statistics if you're going to bother.

Oh wow, get a grip. Do you jump that far to conclusions every time you hear an opinion?

It wasn't a claim of a media conspiracy against Pit Bulls, or a claim of persecution against Pit Bulls or anything else.

If you're willing to look at the issue seriously, then you'll find that particular piece of information to be totally irrelevant.

Should we have a big blah blah about how all guns should be banned every time a child is killed by a gun? Obviously we should not. Pit Bulls are not a risk to the community. Irresponsible dog owners can be a risk to the community. Anyone proposing a ban on Pit Bulls is someone that is not willing to look at the issue seriously. Or they're a politician who isn't willing to look at the issue seriously, but really wants to make it look like they're looking at the issue seriously.

And you're wrong about the insurance part. While it could be possible that SOME insurance companies won't offer homeowner's insurance to Pit Bull owners, a more likely scenario would be higher premiums for Pit Bull owners and/or exclusion clauses so the insurance company won't have to cover any dog-related incidents. The same can happen if you have a swimming pool, trampoline, gun, and probably in a ton of other situations.

Furthermore, insurance companies will often offer lower premiums for dog owners who complete some manner of obedience training with their dog(s). Maybe they do know a thing or two...

So next time you get a piece of information on an issue that concerns you (or you're concerned with), consider reading about it at least a little on your own. Surely you understand how problematic jumping to conclusions can be. Thank you.

The political correctness thing is a little absurd, you should really consider getting a grip on reality.

Do you think the "chained up and fenced in" part might have something to do with how the dog is? What do you reckon would happen if you chained up a child and left it alone for years? Look up "feral child", that's what happens. The problem is people don't take dog ownership very seriously.

Guns kill way more people in this country than dogs, but I'm sure we could agree that banning guns isn't the right answer. There's nothing wrong with responsible gun ownership.

Your gun is probably about a million times more likely to hurt or kill your children than a dog. Oh the irony.

Dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years now, and they've been attacking and even killing people the entire time. This isn't exactly anything new. Usually there are definite reasons, or at least contributing factors, as to why it happens... and you are on to NONE OF THEM.

How about you take a little time to really read and learn about things before you go and freak out about them? I promise you'll live a much happier life.

Pit Bulls happen to be very popular right now, that's really about all there is to it. A lot of less-than-knowledgeable and less-than-responsible people want them right now, which leads to irresponsible if not disreputable breeding.

ANY dog can bite. If you're living in fear of pit bulls, perhaps you could stand to do a little more reading about dogs too.
