The skit? Sophomoric, no... juvenile, no... infantile, humor. Their "humor" is as underdeveloped as their common sense. Anything the left tries to do to minimize her will fall just as flat. She is in the perfect position to do as she sees best, for her family and the country.
Wow! How do they do that? This internet thing is getting too fancy. ;-)
I agree with wr1 on this one Peteee. Not on some of his other points, I must say (camera ops can achieve union status for their kids, if they know the right people) but your observations of what entertainment unions (i.e. guilds) do is completely off base. Are there problems with Hwood unions, sure - but they are a different beast in the Union family.
When I first saw the "Green Police" commercial, I smiled. I thought it was the right amount of snark, satire, and good old commercialism. Then I was worried that certain people would glom onto it as "the truth" or the way they would like it to be. And today I'm reading and hearing as much. When Rush made his comments that agreed with me, I knew that the greenies were definitely going to take the stance they have. And they couldn't be more blind to good humor and good advertising.
Business is business. Politics is politics. Until the politician gets into business. Then it just becomes a mess. A business person becoming a politician brings skills that could be well utilized in the public service. There's no promise there, but it's better than a pol going into the carbon tax credits biz, as an example.
If Murdoch wants to put up an MSNBC clone, fine, that's his choice. I don't need to watch it if I choose not to. I'd squawk if he did it at the same time as taking down FNC, but as a business man, I doubt he'd make that decision. A sequel to Avatar is again just a business decision. I can choose not to watch it the same as I did the original.
I hope that reality programming is just another iconic TV genre that is reaching the end of its lifespan. The problem then becomes - what is going to replace it? Will that be even more dumbed down or will someone offer something that has some intelligence to it?
Very nice, Pam. I know there was a handful of people who were touting the thought that GWB would eventually receive his due as a good president. Maybe not great, but certainly good. There was just going to have to be a some time out of the public eye. I'm glad that this bit is being offered up so early on.
Don't know what you mean there.
yes - he will have to "man up" and take the heat. And the more professional he is as he does that will create a better impression in the eyes of all of us. The post points out his youthful belief that he knows it all. I think it's fine and a great learning experience. Maybe it's something cooked up over some beers, but it certainly got us talking. And that's a good thing.
Yes, right here at Big Hollywood, let’s tear this mother down, start over, and have at it.
Boom. Right there. That's what this place is about. Thank you John Nolte - and everyone at the Bigs - for stepping up.
