I want to send my children to a private school that costs more than a voucher can accommodate, and that I can afford. What are my choices then?

What happens to public schools when the money is removed?

Do you understand what you are asking?

The article you provided only speaks to costs of "running" a charter school. It doesn't address the costs of tuition for the "private schools of my choice".

Further, your article only talks about the costs of running, as it relates to how much public assistance it gets, but doesn't look at other types of funding, such as grants.

Though he rightly points out that charter schools typically use private grants to supplement the public funds they receive (the budget office report looked only at public funding), the influence of philanthropic giving on charter school budgets is exaggerated. A recent analysis of publicly reported documents by Kim Gittleson found that the average charter school in the city received about $1,656 per pupil in philanthropic funds in 2009.

Operating costs go up, as operating expenses do. Do you understand that?

I just showed you that charter schools are currently run for significantly less than private schools with better results.

First, that doesn't speak to sending a child to a private school..OF MY CHOICE.

Second, no, you didn't. You showed that running a smaller enterprise costs less, compared to a large one. It's costs more to "run" microsoft than it costs to "run" a small software developer, but that doesn't speak to "tuition costs". Do you understand the difference?

Once the smaller charter schools start seeing the level of students the larger ones do, their costs will also go up. Not to mention you haven't shown the tuition of a charter school, vs. public school.

You are just mixing statements and colluding the conversation because you don't understand what you are actually saying.

Rob's unsophisticated "solution" would spread costs around to schools that would be flooded with children they couldn't afford to prepare for, and the minimum monies from a "voucher" would not cover the costs, and subsequently, all schools will suffer.

It's better to leave private schools alone, and let those who can afford them pay, as well as leaving the public school system in tact. Parents need to parent their children, that's half our problem in our school system.

See! You didn't understand your own statement. How is a voucher going to fund the cost of sending my children to a private school....OF MY CHOICE?

You didn't even understand your own statement.

My point is that the cost, per child, is significantly less to send to public school vs. private. ESPECIALLY when you are forced to pay with a "voucher". The cost of sending your child to a charter or private school of my choice is going to exceed the cost to send them to public school...so a "voucher" is insufficient as a solution.

More likely that you didn't understand your own comment.

Give the money to parents, in the form of a voucher, and let them decide which schools get the money.

Explain how a voucher is even remotely feasible, when costs for private school, far and away exceed the costs of public school. If you knew anything about infrastructure, and what it costs to build, maintain, and facilitate a school that can accomplish it's task, you would know that a "voucher" won't cover the costs, as the two products have different costs.

You are in over your head.

Provide an example how they spend lots of money, with no accountability!! Ever sold anything to a school or university? I have. I can tell you that the "bureaucratic process" ensures they pay low prices due to the procurement requirement of putting out bids to "super quote" or the online systems designed for each state/region.

You have been challenged to support your statement with facts. Lets see if you are up to the challenge.

You couldn't afford to send your kids to a private school. It's $1,300-$1,500 a month just to send a child to Catholic or private school.....and that's just for kindergarten. That's most average Americans mortgage, or rent. How are parents going to afford that if they have two or three children?

You can't fix things by screwing them up, more so, with your simple minded platitudes and logic. You are not a problem solver Port; you are a parrot who can't understand complex issues.

...you would like to hijack this thread by talking about anything other than the poor performance of BO.. - Proof_positively_stupid

There is NO valid critique of anything Obama has done in this thread. Your criticisms are pure hatred of a black man. That is evidenced by the contrast you made from a white democratic President to a black democratic president. Your racism is so much a part of your regular thinking, that you are incapable of hiding the mental aspect of it, while you go about masking the verbiage aspect of common racist terms, believing that is all that reveals or determines racism.

This is your fundamental problem Proof. You are only capable of seeing words, you are incapable of going deeper, beyond the black and white words on a screen. You fail to understand the meaning of words and the context of words that you put together in a sentence. Context is your worst enemy, because in every instance your hatred for black people is revealed in your critiques where the white person is always better than the black person who does the same exact thing.

We saw this with the following posts:

Obama vs. Clinton

The black women flag-like wavers vs. the white women abusing the actual American flag.

The black professor vs. the white police man.

On and on and on. You can't hide your racism, because you always fail to cover your thoughts (actions), as they are exposed by the context of your over the top and dishonest/racist criticisms of blacks.

mikeymc, when you are smart enough to understand past tense vs. present, get back to me. Until then, I am dismissing you as the moron you are.

BTW, notice how Proof blogs 24/7....how does he do that and pretend he works for a living?
