Unfortunately, here in the UK I don't have access to the video. But I'm willing to agree that maybe that was the wrong forum for comments that could be easily seen as 'hate speech'

Very well written, shared it over at my own blog, linked above.

Oh bloody hell... seriously? Definitely cry - this is actually rather upsetting. Obviously the kid is simply parroting what he's seen the preachers do - but it's so sad and creepy that they let him do it and praise him - and you can hear the church members all yelling Jesus and praying while he's up there... It's just wrong.

Just butting in a bit here.

YOU said:

'No one, not me nor the original author ever said that which you two are claiming we said. You both are saying that He (the original author), or I, have said that "The ... fact that somebody spends a ... great deal of effort criticizing a position must mean (he)... believes in the veracity of that position..." I do not believe that nor have I said that.'

But here's the original post, just at the top of the page look, where the original poster DID actually say exactly what you are saying they didn't say!

'You see, something inside is telling the atheistic bloggers - God really does exist. Rather than yield to his love, the atheist will convince himself/herself that God doesn’t exist and in so doing, proves that he in fact does exist, but that they are unwilling to acknowledge it. The sheer volume of atheistic blogs testify to the existence of one they refuse to acknowledge due to mulish pride.'

I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know we HAD Mercy houses here in the UK. And unfortunately, wiki's biggest attraction is also a problem - anyone can edit it. Hopefully the problem will get sorted out soon enough.

Agreed. My brother and I were lucky in that respect - we had all the usual christian stuff, from the primary schools (most of which were C of E) and at home we were introduced to everything else.
An upbringing where only one stance is ever talked about or put across, is sure to lead to disinterest in the wider world (just look at the creationist mom I quoted in my own blog - it's evident she doesn't want her kids to even contemplate other ideas!)

I'm inclined to agree. As for myself, not a single one of my friends was made due to any Church going activites, because only one of my many friends is a Church-goer. That friend, in fact, has no friends from her Church, because she is the only member of her age - her peers are either two or three years younger, or recently married couples a few years older.
