This is frustrating, Truth. Your thoughtful post deserves a good response. I just spent an hour on it and can't get it to post! I got the first couple paragraphs out. Will keep trying.

"I sense a strong leaning towards class warfare like what Obama keeps pushing to divide us which does nothing to create a cohesive group all pulling forward."

To quote Warren Buffett: “There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

More to come...

Truth, I am trying to respond to your great post but I keep getting a "deleted by Administrator" error message each time. I will try again tomorrow.

And Reagan would never have been President with this Republican party.

So the folks who have benefited the most with the policies of the last 30 years, benefited the most from The Commons, benefited from having a strong military to protect their interests.... they should not share in the sacrifice it will take to right this ship?

I am just amazed how many people argue to benefit the very few at the expense of the many.

The wealthiest 5% have 60% of the wealth... why should they not pay their share? How much is enough? Let's go back to the tax rates of the last Clinton years - and go back to the spending of those years, adjusted for inflation. Remember, Clinton handed Bush a huge budget surplus. The economy was running on all cylinders. And we know what Bush did to the economy. And we know how bad the income gap has become.

There are definitely lots of bums out there - but a tiny percentage of our population. So we should use that as an excuse to destroy The Commons, our schools, our fire departments, our police, our roads?

I understand your frustration. I had an employee who popped her first kid out at 16. Her kid popped her first kid out at 16. I overheard her telling her kid to have more kids because then they more from the state. Needless to say, she was the first to go when I had layoffs. I bumped into her a couple weeks ago. She depleted all her unemployment (which I pay for) and was proud that she found a lawyer and doctor who got her qualified for SS disability! And she works on the side for cash! Yea, I was pi$$ed. We need to burn people like her. But we need to take care of the children. It is not their fault they were born to losers.
