Regarding the punishments for his incident, they seem to be about right. People not competing entering the octagon clearly need the biggest punishment. McGregor could have complained that he was the victim, as he couldn't affect the actions of his opponent and family. But he's been reasonable on that point.
Obviously, the prelude to the fight left a lot to be desired but perhaps the defeat will put some respect into McGregor. He probably should have been reprimanded for his conduct in the run up, to make a point.

such a shame, but he's got the monkey off the back with a British player winning grand slams, including the hallowed Wimbledon. his needling over the England-Scotland rivalry was mostly amusing.
That he is retiring due to injury is no great surprise. We see Murray and Nadal hammering their legs into the ground. Murray always seemed to have his ankles strapped up, which of course moves the load elsewhere.
Federer's longevity is due in no small way to his greater efficiency and elegance on his feet.

I don't believe that England have a wealth of midfield excellence, so if I was him I'd be holding out to play for my home country.
Ireland are pretty shambolic from an organisational point of view, and the only time they seem to have any motivation is when trying to convince other nationalities to play for them.

As well as being paid huge amounts of money, there are plenty who have been paid for twice as long as they actually worked.
