So what exactly does the flyer say? Ben Shapiro says it specifically mentions Israel but NONE of the news sources reporting on this say that. In fact, no where is there a translation of the Arabic side.

Much like forgetting to mention that it was a local coordinator who actually wrote and distributed the flyer, I suspect Shapiro also mistakenly conflated the details of the article, which tangentially mention Israel, with what it actually says.

Of course, while some here screech about PaulBots, Shapiro himself is out of his mind when it comes to Ron Paul. Notice the subtlety in his article. He doesn't provide a translation of the flyer, or the English side of it, but then brings in discussion of Paul's book -- which has nothing to do with the flyer -- to make it seem as if the two are related. This is very reminiscent of what the media does to conservative and libertarians. Too bad it's now passing for journalism at the Bigs.

If there's one thing Mr. Shapiro has, it's a single-minded purpose of Israel first, Israel always. I'm sorry, Israel needs to lose its foreign aid support, right along with everyone else. Just as Ron Paul says.

Now will Mr. Shapiro post a translation of the flyer to show the bias he says is there? I doubt it, because I doubt it exists.

Well, there's liberals for you. Not only is the Phoenix New Times not backing away from their horrendous reporting but they're doubling down on it:
http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2012-03-01/news/ba...

Because Babeu did what any guy does when trying to get a date online -- post pictures of himself -- the rag is calling it a "scandal" and trying to link his actions with those of Anthony Weiner. Babeu had a great comeback, though, and noted that unlike Weiner he was not married. I'd also point out he wasn't taking pictures of himself in taxpayer financed Congressional gyms either.

The liberal mindset really is getting scarier and scarier.

While a 51st state would really screw up the symmetry of the flag's stars, there's no reason Puerto Rico shouldn't be a state. It's a beautiful island and although they report their gas prices in dollars per liter (that really had me going there when I went to fill up my gas tank the first time...I thought "Wow! Gas is a bargain here!") for all intents and purposes it's already a state. May as well make it official.

<Sigh> This is what's wrong with the Republican party. I just don't get it. I just don't see why people are choosing this man. Romney is just such a squishy Republican, seriously it's obvious it's time for a new Republican party. It simply does not represent me. John McCain last time. Romney now. WTF?! Looks like I'll be voting for Gary Johnson come November.

I think the critiques of Boehner here are very appropriate. Whatever you might say about Pelosi -- and there's quite a lot to say -- she never missed an opportunity to pounce on the Bush administration when she was speaker. Even when there weren't lives at stake and she was just making stuff up, she was still on the attack. She was a fairly effective speaker for the liberal cause.

Boehner needs to do something, anything! Oh, I'm sorry, he cries a lot. He's good at that.

Excuse me, I'm no "lefty dog" but even I've seen the Bigs site refer to PolitiFact as PolitiHack time and again. So let's not suddenly pretend it's a worthwhile "Pulitizer Prize winning" organization because it suddenly says something we like.

Here its analysis is labeled "subjective" when it question the MacIver Institute: http://bigjournalism.com/bhealy/2011/12/20/macive...

Here it's called a "hammer" to beat Republican candidates: http://bigjournalism.com/jjmnolte/2011/10/17/who-...

Here's it's teaming up with NPR: http://bigjournalism.com/jjmnolte/2011/11/03/what...

So there you go, 3 minutes worth of checking that PolitiFact and its Truth-o-Meter is regularly denigrated around here.

Again, conservatives need to stop adopting the tactics of the liberals and use whatever means necessary to achieve an end. If PolitiFact is a hack site, then don't go citing it because it comes out with a nugget we like. We can't have it both ways.

Let's see, a bad shade of Obama (Romney), a religious zealot (Santorum), a Democrat turned Republican who can't quite get his politics right (Perry), or Mr. Consistency Ron Paul, and you choose to attack him for bringing a solider on stage who supports him? Yah, right!

I pick Santorum to fade after New Hampshire or South Carolina (he's got, what, 4% support nationally?) and then it will be a choice between a blow-dried candidate who passes and defends the very thing Republicans have committed to doing away with (Obamneycare) and the one candidate who has never wavered in his principles.

Please, give me Ron Paul any day of the week to any of these other loser candidates.

Okay, that was just bizarre. But notice how where the mourners are standing, they're all standing. And where they're kneeling and pounding the pavement, they're all kneeling and pounding the pavement. Genuine grief would certainly have mixed the outward displays of emotion amongst the two groups.

But if you look at the 0:17 mark, the male in the middle seems to look at the camera and then goes into his grief display.

Now, yes, it could be genuine grief, but only because they've been conditioned to operate in such a way. But I doubt it.

Geez, I don't know...I agree that sometimes violence against the government IS necessary. Those in power don't give up that power easily.

What I see being argued here in these comments though is violence against people as opposed to the government. I agree, violence against individuals such as that perpetrated by the OWS crowd is reprehensible. But that's not what Nolte's article was commenting on. He was trying to draw some kind of parallel between the sentiments of violence against the government and there being something wrong with the movement.

While there's undoubtedly something clearly amiss in the heads of OWS protestors, lets not be selective in how we like to portray things. If Tea Parties had been selectively singled out here for believing in an uprising against the government, the comments would be different.

The fact is, the tree of liberty must be replenished with the blood of tyrants from time to time. Just because you don't like the politics of the OWS crowd doesn't make the sentiment any less true.

They were definitely a more honorable group than those who currently #Occupy the chamber, but it also didn't take very long for avarice to overtake the body. Just look at all the "insider trading" that was going on by the time the Transcontinental Railroad was being built. Buying up land along potential rail routes -- and payoffs and handwringing to ensure they went that way -- was rampant. Plenty of members of Congress used their positions to make a profit on the Civil War too.

I'm guessing that just about anywhere we look where the government becomes more involved -- whether today or back then -- corruption follows. It's the nature of government, power, and man.
