Recognizing that the massive ongoing Israeli military operation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in the occupied Gaza Strip, has caused grave violations of the human rights of the Palestinian civilians therein, exacerbated the severe humanitarian crisis in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and undermined international efforts towards achieving a just and lasting peace in the region,
Condemning all forms of violence against civilians and deploring the loss of human lives in the context of the current situation,

Head of the UN Fact Finding Mission Justice Richard Goldstone presented the report of the Mission to the Human Rights Council in Geneva on 29 September 2009, urging the Council and the international community as a whole to put an end to impunity for violations of international law in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

On 3 April 2009, the President of the Human Rights Council established an international independent Fact Finding Mission with the mandate “to investigate all violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law that might have been committed at any time in the context of the military operations that were conducted in Gaza during the period from 27 December 2008 and 18 January 2009, whether before, during or after.” [See press release of 3 April 2009 and transcript of press briefing]

The appointment of the mission followed the adoption on 12 January 2009 of resolution S-9/1 by the United Nations Human Rights Council at the end of its 9th Special Session.

America has spent 90 billion dollars on Israel since 1950 ... I think that we as Americans should turn our back on Israel and move on ..
Remember there are lots of White Americans in The UNITED SATES OF AMERICA that are not to admiring of Israel and it's religious majority .

I agree with you , If it wasn't for USA military technologies and Military Aid , Isreal would have won zero wars against the Arabs .

If you don't like America and our president I sugest you buy a boat ticket and go live somewhere else .
Isreal is a little country that has nothing to do with our USA . I am A real American of Anglo descent .
My forefathers were from England not Israel .

I cannot believe the comments that I am reading on this article . Firstly President Obama is a gentleman and an American born American . Secondly he is the president of the United States of America and should be respected , Thirdly in The United States of America ethnic or religious origins should not be questioned , Fourthly President Obama's decision not to have photo shoots with Benjamin N. is not a sign that the president is against Israel , Fifthly I think that President Obama has a lot on his plate with the Oil Spill that threatens our Coasts and waters and sea ways, Sixthly Israel is receiving 3 Billion dollars of my tax paying dollars a year , which I think should be spent on Americans living in the United States and not on foreign Countries like Israel . Seventhly Obama is doing a great job in the White House and he is a great president .
My speritual leader is the Pope and I look up to the Vatican in Rome , I am Christian and proud . I think that American should distance ourselves from Israel as it is a country that is always implicated with a whole pile of trouble .
