Though I agree that a person who intercepted would be likely to get hit, I have grave concerns about introducing a pistol into a fistfight on a crowded bus. Maybe it would be better to intervene with your fists and take a few lumps rather than risk the collateral damage that would surely come from firing a shot in that tin can.
Why now? This dogged pursuit of old soldiers who were most likely just enlisted men following orders is bizarre. What if these old soldiers have Alzheimer's and can't speak for themselves? Is this really about justice? Sixty years from now, when "evidence" will most likely be spotty or non-existent, will our old soldiers be drug into the courtroom with their walkers and oxygen tanks to be charged with war crimes?
I've ridden King County Metro buses for more than 3 years on an almost-daily basis, and it's been my experience that the driver announces the last stop in the ride-free zone. I think the only people who don't know where the ride-free zone ends are tourists and new riders. I've seen scofflaws get on in the ride-free area and then skip out on paying the fare when the bus has long-since left downtown.
Putting an end to the ride-free zone and implementing pay-as-you enter would not only help reduce the incidence of passengers cheating on fares; it would also reduce the likelihood that fare-paying passengers would be harassed by people who board the bus with what seems to be the sole intent of causing trouble (like gropers, drug dealers, and youth who get into fights).
Seattle City Council votes to punish Arizona for defending itself, completely ignoring calls for Mexican revolt in the U.S., such as the one made just a week ago by public school teacher Ron Gochez at a La Raza rally ... I'm boycotting Seattle.
No, spatric. Amurricans roll over and accept the Mexican invasion. They accept pretty much anything foisted upon them as long as they have a remote-control in one hand and a cold beer in the other. They are clearly too apathetic to fight.
Our lords and masters tolerate illegal immigration on a mass scale because people in power are making lots of money off of cheap labor. If you're fed up, go to northwestfront.org and see what you can do about it.
... and like abused wives, we keep putting up with these things. At what point do we recognize that we can't rehabilitate Amurrica at the ballot box?
Where is Charles Bronson when you need him?
