In any case, the advise is for you to go back and swap for a new replacement set. Your case is abnormal. Swapping for a new replacement set will definitely resolve your problem. Don't get stressed by trying to solve it the hard way.

I am a PC user and a novice Mac user. Because of the iPhone, I use my Mac more. Pawnage tool is easy to use. I suggest you make friends with Mac Users here or at your place. Get them to send you the file that is needed to restore your iPhone to 3.1 and jailbroken.

I have ported this file over to iTunes on PC and it works just as well.

Thanks. Besides what you have suggested, is there any way to get the actual carrier being displayed on the status bar? I travel often and uses roaming services, using Fakecarrier will not allow me to see which carrier I am hooked to at a glance.

Thanks Dev Team for the tool. I have successfully jailbroken my 3GS and now operating normally on 3.1. I have a small problem that does not affect the use of the phone. The carrier name disappeared. Just the signal strength and 3G appears. What should I do to get the carrier name on the status bar?.
