They broke their own rules using underhanded tactics to try to shut Ron Paul out during the primary, then when Ron Paul -still- managed to come through with a strong second and looked like he might have a shot at pulling an upset at the convention, they rigged that as well. The Republican leadership is corrupt and must be stopped.

Given that the Republicans will have both the House and Senate, we don't really need the president as well. Vote Ron Paul, even if you have to write in his name. We do not need a big-government Republican who likes high taxes and big spending - if there's going to be anything of that sort, let Obama do it and have the Democrats take the rap. And take any money you would have donated to the Republican Party and instead donate it directly to the campaigns of conservative Senate candidates in swing states. For instance, Todd Akin (R-MO), who's been unfairly trashed by the liberal media - about what you'd expect from them - but also thrown under the bus by his own party leadership, who (like in the case of Ron Paul) saw a chance to get rid of another strong conservative.

The question is, do men have more toilets, or are women taking longer? If the latter, then the answer is simple - tax women more and build more toilets using the money.

Only people in rich countries care about the environment and spend to improve the environment. Bankrupting us is therefore rather counterproductive. Especially since the countries with the biggest populations aren't going to sign on to anything restrictive and will more than make up for any reductions in pollution we manage to do.

Obama's destroying the country, yes, but in this particular moment he's just being human (or more specifically, male) and enjoying firing a marshmallow gun. Let him have his moment.

On a more interesting topic - does it do us any good for to have more inventions than any other country if all the manufacturing has moved out due to unions and taxation? As the MIT Technical Journal pointed out recently, outsourcing leads to a disconnect between inventors and manufacturing, to the point where it stifles innovation and allows other countries to steal our inventions, improve on them, and then export back here to compete with us. The unions need to be reigned in or the inventors of tomorrow will never get off the ground.

They're tame animals that enjoy performing, as far as anyone can tell. This is hardly the same thing as the Chinese locking up bears in confined cages and then harvesting their bile, which has resulted in some of the bears committing suicide. PETA should be focusing 100% of its efforts on that instead of wasting time and money on this, especially considering they're going to lose and most people are just going to hate their guts.

A tiny percentage of the people, perhaps. And you'll notice that there's little or no actual censorship (yet...) China actively prevents material it considers "harmful" from being posted online, and locks up people who break the censorship rules. We might get there eventually if things keep going the way they're going, but we're still at least several steps away, and at least in the US, the general population is well-armed and not particularly interested in being censored.

While I support the concept in theory, in practice I do not trust either the government or the music and film industries to wield the power properly. This would give the government a mechanism for shutting down any websites it doesn't like - power which it might use during a coup to eliminate the voice of the opposition.

The space program HAS been profitable for the nation, when you consider at all the technological advances that have come about because of it. That having been said, we can't afford to keep fielding shuttles that cost billions of dollars, and in my opinion it doesn't matter if converting to private manned spaceflight takes a decade rather than five years - it will still be infinitely more cost-effective in the long run and will give us an edge again. Conventional shuttles can't cut it any more.

If by that you mean Europe is more socialist than the US and has been enjoying the results, you are correct. Europe has several percent higher unemployment, a significantly lower standard of living, more crime, more riots, worse healthcare, etc. Don't we all want to be like them?

Incidently, spewing incomprehensible garbage doesn't help your point of view any.

Of COURSE they love him in Europe. Europe is competing with us economically, so a US president who destroys our economy is just what they want. Not to mention Europe is becoming quite Muslim, and Obama's supporting the radicals in Libya and Egypt and throwing Israel under the bus.

I say we export Obama to Europe and let them have him.
