The Obama administration is so arrogant is doesn't even know how arrogant it is. I watched all last night as Obama spinners denigrated the now cancelled insurance plans of hard working Americans who acted responsibly, and purchased these basic plans with their own money. I heard these plans called "substandard", "crap insurance", and "lousy plans", etc. Making it clear in no uncertain terms these citizens are just too stupid to know what's best for them. (I mean how stupid are you not to pick the pocket of your fellow citizen given the chance.) It must be particularly galling to be condescended to by political hacks who have never worked a real job in their lives.

Nice to see Commentary pointing out the perfidy of the Obama administration, instead of the umpteenth post about how the The Tea Party and Ted Cruz are destroying the Grand Old Stupid Party.

By the way, that last paragraph will land you in a soon to be built re-education camp in order to have your loyalty re-calibrated.

Hell no. Sorry, not the function of the federal government. We fund your little pet project and the next thing you know we're funding Cowboy Poetry festivals in Nevada. The job of the federal government is to protect the country, maintain the highway system and perform the duties mandated by the Constitution. Find a bunch of rich, like minded philanthropists to fund your program.

I directed my comment to you because you characterized besht2003 as having "self righteous rage" while I think his rage is totally righteous. Haven't we been told countless times we have up to 30 million illegals "living in the shadows"? (I didn't make this number up.) I stand by my statement that most illegals are Mexican, illiterate or semi-literate (sometimes in their own language.) Excuse me for not sugar coating things as I don't speak PC. Again I ask the question, how are these people a net plus for the country?

I would call that righteous rage. Please explain to me how legalizing 30 million semi-literate to illiterate non-English speaking Mexicans are a plus for the country. Not too mention admitting immigrants from countries who have sworn to kill us. We are a sovereign nation with the right and duty to allow legal entry as we see fit. It is not our job to provide people of the third world work, healthcare, food stamps, education and so on and on.

So who benefits from this open borders philosophy. First, the lawbreakers themselves, Then businesses looking for cheap labor. Elites, needing cheap pliable household help. Political parties. Democrats slavering over a permanent dependency class and the votes that come with them. Republicans, just knowing in their heart of hearts that these illegals will be drawn to the GOP cause...they're Catholic, I guess. Leftists like George Soros because they like to get as much chaos into the system as possible.

Who gets screwed in this deal? Black workers trying to climb ladder that will be undercut by workers who will work cheap and keep their mouths shut. Lower income tenants seeing their neighborhoods transformed into Mexico. And of course, the good old middle class, who politicians pledge their undying love to when election time comes, will continually be squeezed by the taxes needed to pay for all the benefits these immigrants are going to need.

Is there some way we can track down the genius that stared the meme that Hispanics are natural Republicans? We need to invent a time machine, go back and strangle him in his crib.

Just when the Stupid Party paraded their stupidness on the national stage for all to see, they are about to stupidly support the import of illiterate Mexicans who will vote for Democrats the first chance they get (legally or illegally). Stupid on steroids.

I can't believe I read a post here regarding a domestic policy that Mr. Tobin doesn't blame on Ted Cruz and the Tea Party.

HillelA. If a teacher has been found guilty of molesting a student (by either confession or irrefutable evidence) should that teacher be fired, prosecuted and forbidden from ever teaching again? This a simple yes or no question. No fog, BS, or twenty minute non-answers like your hero, Obama. I'm trying to ascertain the limit of what you'll defend.
