This report miss out the latest development in Beijing. Chinese leader Hu JinTao invited kin of Dr. Martin L King to honour the US human right fighter and to host a study of US human right history with participants including Senator Jesse Jackson, Rev Wright of Chicago, mentor of President Obama, and Cherokee, Hopi, and many more American Indian Chiefs to dicuss human right issues.
I find the line "Beijing claims Taiwan as its territory" or like in other western media which like to insert the next line "and would not hesitate to use force to ......" mischievious. First, Taiwan in its constitution consider Mainland China its territory and would use force to take it under its control, therefore both side actually behave the same way all this while. Second every country in the same situation will use force if the otherside collude with foreign power to harm its interest. However, with carefull nurturing by both side, China and Taiwan might come together in a peaceful manner in the not to distant future. Now the question is, will this be welcome by their economic competitors in the west?
