Is the painting hanging in the hallway or on the door??
In addition to making the changes suggested, it would also make sense to link Medicare eligibility to Social Security eligibility. Both are retirement programs, so individuals should "retire" for both Medicare purposes and Social Security purposes at the same time.
Unlike the Executive Branch the Legislative Branch does not consider their offices to be Federal. If you try to access an Executive Branch office you are not allowed to proceed unless you are: 1) a building employee with an ID card; or 2) your are escorted by someone from the office you intend to visit. If you go to the office of a Member of Congress, you merely walk through a security screening that checks for weapons, etc. By holding themselves out in this way, the Members of Congress have been able to say that their offices are the "people's offices", and, as an additional benefit, they've been able to hold themselves above laws that they have enacted, such as smoking in federal buildings.
I haven't read anywhere that O'Keefe's group bluffed their way through security, so I doubt that a Federal offense was committed. I'm sure that this will end being just another nuisance issue, as other Member of Congress offices deal with from time to time when unwanted/unwelcome visitors show up to create a disturbance.
Q: What do the GOP and Bin Laden have in common?
A: They both want to take credit for someone elses work
YGBSM Michael!!! We've never been stupid, and we're no longer naive.
Please instead write a book ten years from now entitled "How My 12-Step Program Defeated the Obama Agenda and Took Back America"
Otherwise get out of our way.
The TPP succeeds because it stands for nothing that mainstream Americans hate; it is only hated by the major political parties and the extremists. Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, and Free Market are difficult to hate unless you have an agenda. I read that the TPP needs to remake the Republican Party; this is wrong. Parties have platforms that include other issues such as abortion, gay rights, human trafficking, etc. These things make THEM easy to hate. Most Americans can fit in the TPP tent; if they just understand the simplicity of the tent. This country’s ails can't be cured overnight. I'll accept the gains that can be achieved by electing candidates of ANY party so long as they stand for the three TPP principles; I don‘t care about their stance on other issues. The TPP will succeed if it continues to emphasize its three principles and makes it known that it will back politicians of any party so long as they support these principles. If the TPP does this the only people in America that will hate us are the major political parties and the extremists (and the MSM!!). This movement isn't about remaking political parties; its about rescuing America.
Barry also doesn't want us to know that HIS CIA knew about this guy and his attempts to contact Al Qaeda, but would not share this information with the Army.
He can't blame this one on Bush.
I agree that the GOP is the "last best hope' but only in the long run. Meaningful change in Washington means changing out the players. If the career politicians in Washington decide to start playing to the conservative voice, they will be like an alcoholic who stops drinking but keeps hanging out in bars. They will continue to succumb to the interest groups, financial influencers, and cronyism that goes with the corruption of power. The only solution is to take them out of the environment. For the short term, we just need to break up the Washington power structure; it doesn't matter whether its Reps or Dems who are elected; it matters that the careerists are ejected. The TPP needs to develop a strategy that (1) identifies the conservative who ought to continue in office; (2) defeats the remaining incumbents in the primaries. Some voters may need to change party affiliation in order to vote incumbentsin the primary. There are 435 Representatives and about 33 Senators up for reelection every two years; that's 87% of the Congress. It wouldn't take but two or three elections for the politicians to figure out who they really work for.
I agree completely. We need to make sure that the incumbents don't make it past the primaries. It doesn't matter whether Reps or Dems win in the general election; just that incumbents depart. It will take two or three election cycles for THEM to really figure out that WE have taken control of our destiny, but then WE can start making the real changes that need to occur, such as eliminating paid lobbyists and changing campaign finance to allow contributions only from individual registered voter citizens who have a stake in the outcome of the election (i.e. their district/state for Reps and Sens).
I agree, but it is even more important to get rid of incumbents during the primaries, not just RINOs. The message must be sent, even if it takes out a few good people. As they say in the army, you've got to expect a few losses in a big operation
