I've been to Costa Rica several times and enjoyed it very much. Be aware it is NOT without its' difficulties and problems. Squatters being a bad one (not to mention the fact it can take YEARS to remove them).

If you are considering moving there give a read of this blog before selling and moving. I don't know "Tim", but have found his commentary factual and his advice excellent.
