Will the remorseless spewings of this mountebank and poltroon with his aperient self-pity never cease? We can be grateful to him only for drawing the attention of the hitherto uninformed to his well documented prevarications and financial misadventures as elaborated in the Forward's article of 30 August 2012, http://forward.com/articles/160009/is-he-beacon-f... .

It is worrying that this malign buffoon persists in continuing his antic parade with more attempts at fund-raising. As many will know the Embassy Series has disassociated itself from this soi disant messiah of Lithuanian-Jewish relations. This should be sufficient warning to any who contemplate patronising Little Mr Sunflower's concerts.

It also warrants action to stop further depredations. I urge everyone concerned to block further endorsements which appear to legitimise Felstein to write to the Embassy Series and insist that they disassociate themselves from this poltroon. They can only be damaged by the continuing bad publicity which will otherwise inevitably surround the Series. Here is their address:

To pursue this a bit further: I have written to Mindaugas Diksaitis, Pastor to the Good Newsers asking him to confirm the legitimacy of Felstein's claim to have engaged him together with the four boys and young men with the fey grins depicted in the photo. I've not had a response which suggests that the Good Newser-in-Chief has contracted a case of chronic reticence from Felstein. Or perhaps he is still waiting for his crate of carbon paper to arrive before committing himself to a response.

I am curious about the photos since the solitary headstone shown is not typical of of traditional headstones. Where was the photograph taken?

It also strikes me that anyone who has even an antediluvian familiarity with restoration techniques will realise that attaching metal tags to headstones is destructive. But then, so is dishonesty so this may be part of Mr Helstein's pathology of trashing Jewish heritage.

It's also significant that while Felstein has made no contacts with any of the Jewish Organisations in Lithuania he has, apparently connected with the Good News Baptist Church, http://www.jezus.lt/. Does he also represent Lithuanian Baptists as well as all the Lithuanian Jews in this world and the next?

This assumes, of course, that the connexion with the Good Newsers is for real.

I wish to point out that I have never been a Director of Felststein's organisation not a participant in any of his mendacious antics. Without my permission he included my name on the incorporation documents of his Maryland corporation. I discovered this some months later and wrote immediately by email and registered post that I wanted my name removed at once. I also wrote to the Maryland Secretary of State's office about this violation as well as my broader concerns about Feltstein's fund-raising and other activities. I have had only one abusive response form him and my name has not been removed. This is true indication of the integrity of the man.

I should also point out the name of his organisation, at least on all his publicity, is the Jewish Lithuanian Heritage Project NOT the Lithuanian Jewish Heritage Project as indicated in the article (although not in the link given in the article).

There are a number of organisations, in addition to ours, which do honest work in heritage preservation, MASEVA, for one. It will be a pity if the dubious activities of, at best, a fantasist discredits these worthwhile efforts.

I, for the present, leave it to others, do comment on his various affiliations and promotors.

I must emphasise that Felstein’s ‘Jewish Lithuanian Heritage Project’ has absolutely NOTHING to do with the ‘Lithuanian Jewish Heritage Project’ which is run by the East European Jewish Project, which has been operating in East Europe since 1996. We did have a brief encounter with Felstein in connexion with a cantorial concert held in Washington last September. No funds from that concert ever reached any projects in Lithuania nor was any accounting given of funds despite repeated request. Another concern is that endorsements, using my name were solicited without my consent. Felstein was notified by us that we no longer wished to be associated with him in any way. He subsequently created his own organisation, complete with a PR firm (however paid for) with the obvious intention of confusing his organisation’s name with ours. This has caused embarrassment for us as creditors, unpaid for food supplied for Felstein’s cherished embassy parties, have contacted us in an attempt to collect debts.

I cannot underscore strongly enough that we are not associated with any of Felstein’s exercises, whatever their intended purposes, altruistic, antic or otherwise. The East European Jewish Heritage Project has never undertaken to represent local Jewish groups except, on occasion, at their request on specific matters. We supply assistance and support for renewal and the building of inter-community relations both amongst Jews and between Jewish and non-Jewish communities. We are also involved in heritage preservation and historical research. I am deeply concerned and resent any confusion between ourselves and this arriviste on the scene and on this cynical self-promotion.
