We have an older woman who is brought to church from a nursing home every once in a while. When she's there, we get to play the game of figure out what she's talking about while the sermon is going. Last time, I managed to sit in front of her and heard her loudly proclaim to the person next to her that it was wrong to sleep in church. I never figured out what the reference was - if she saw someone sleeping or if it was just a general observation - but I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing a little bit later when she was snoring!

Being pregnant, my husband often massages my lower back in church just to keep me from crying. I imagine that before it became exceedingly obvious why he's doing it, we were a distraction and I never knew it!

These are the ones that keep me most distracted. Those that spell check can't find. Personal favorite: Everlasting God "defender of the week" (instead of weak). It has been a few years since that cropped up at church, and I still laugh when I think of it.

I'd hate to think that the responses to your comment would drive you away. Frankly, there are a lot of people here who are coming out as fans of the series. Those who are arguing against it generally don't *seem* to be judging people who watch it but rather the things depicted in it or the story/quality of writing.

I remember when Harry Potter was devilry in book form. I loved the books, love the movies, and would defend that position to anyone who asked. And there were plenty of people who called the fans heathens for simply enjoying a bit of fiction. I haven't read through the pages of comments here, and at this point in my day probably won't - but I'd hope that what I have read is typical - not judging those who like it, just the works themselves.

You've got 32 points because people have liked your input enough to give you thumbs up. Don't let a few naysayers drive you off from a site that is usually full of thoughtful discussion and wit. I'm pretty sure everyone says something to tick someone else off nearly every day! :)

Haven't read them, don't necessarily plan to. That said, this image of love as is being described is something most women long for. I've just begun reading a book that's been on my shelf for a long time now..."Captivating" by John and Stasie Eldridge. It discusses the idea that we all have this longing for love, and God is not only the one to fill it, but he longs for us just as much.

Now if we can just get our hearts around that one we'll be ok!

I'm pregnant and easily susceptible to cravings powered by suggestion. Last night, after finally reading the post about In-n-Out, I made my husband take us there for dinner. He'll be baffled tonight when I ask him for chicken, especially since we don't have a Chick-fil-A anywhere in a 50 mile radius here in Northern California. Perhaps El Pollo Loco will suffice...

Anyway, my vote is In-n-Out. They only do a few things, and such specialization is the key to mastery!
