Thanks for the great site review Greg. You hit on our main redesign goals quite concisely and even our plans as we move forward because the site is indeed a continual work in progress...don't be surprised to see parts move and change as we come to understand how our visitors are interacting with content and the site!

Great points Kevin, I've seen wind cause some crazy variations in reporting and we've always taken the position of the stakes are where they are and it will balance out over time, to try to somehow average it out by storm is only going to cause more issues than it resolves.

Then there's the whole settling issue and time issue - do you report every hour, every 24 hours or somewhere in between, if it's more frequent, you'll definitely see higher numbers, but 24 is the norm.

My 2 cents on snow reporting is that resort's just need to consistent with what they're doing, be transparent as possible (as Dwight note below) and realize that you can't change Mother Nature.

Alex,
You're definitely the exception to what I noted! That said, I still think that RTs, attributed quotes and the like are a better way to go for most established accounts...but, as with everything in the dynamic online world, you never really know until you try. Cheers!

Hmmm, why risk the main account for your brand? Seems to me like it's jumping on the bandwagon of an interesting, but potentially frustrating project. If I follow an account, unless the it's new, I expect it to have consistency with how it's been used in the past and if that changes (from resort messaging to a variety of individual updaters), unless it's really interesting to me, I will probably just unfollow...just a personal feeling, but something that this fad certainly needs to anticipate.

Martin,
I know that Mt Bachelor has done a pricing model by conditions, see their website for some details, however the site also notes \"not applicable this season\". I also know it was a bit counter intuitive in that prices were lowered during inclement (stormy) weather! At this point I\'m not aware of any other resort that sets prices by conditions, most seem to be based on seasonal factors.

@Martin,
Could be people were just ready to ski/ride after taking the previous year off, or perhaps there was an economic tie-in to the bad snow year as well...definitely going to be interesting heading in to 12-13 and hopefully good for everyone. Thanks for the comment, good to see you online here again!

I'm not thinking about the G+ look, user numbers, only putting my feeling out that Google's immediate future is now implicitly tied to G+ and if you want the best results for your brand in search results, you'll want to formulate and execute a G+ strategy...even so, the chirps are definitely there right now.

Of course this isn't taking into account the potential spam filtering impact of using "feet" and even more so "inches" in email subject lines! ;) Would also be interesting to see what the actual conversion or at least CTR of these keywords. Good info, thanks for sharing!

No surprise here, would be much more interested to see a month to month comparison, leading into and over the course of the winter, perhaps even week by week.

Thanks, looking forward to more!
