Looks like a beautiful building. Too bad so much money is spent on these beautiful big EXPENSIVE buildings instead of providing more utilitarian features for the same cost.
But at least he got the hostages back
Spoken by someone who has no clue as to the cost of sprinkler irrigation. Who wants to fund the million dollar plus system in the first place, then add on the monthly 4 or 5 figure electric bill. Additionally most ditches on the south platte river are partially owned by municipalities so don't blame the farmers.
You say you have grass growing out of your arse? maybe you can hire someone to trim it for you.
There was an article in the paper a few weeks ago listing the options they had instead of raising the rates. Obviously some of them were politically incorrect (selling reusable effluent to downstream users including oil companies) for the city to adopt. I guess the city doesn't mind losing the sales tax revenue that they will feel as people can't afford the luxuries for sale in the new mall.
I'm really disappointed with the City Council, with all the other options to raise money for the water department and avoid this rate increase, The council took the easy way and just decided to raise rates for the next 4 years. I hope my employer will match this (and all the other fee and tax increases) so that I can continue to afford my pizza night each week.
It is not a small increase being considered, 10% increase per year for 4 years, and by then there will be other reasons to increase the rates.
Boulder county won't even repave roads in subdivisions because of lack of money, why do you expect them to do any more for damaged bridges?
How about making the vandals pay the cost not covered by insurance as well
Why haven't the vandals themselves had to pay the extra funds. I guess a slap on the wrist and a stern warning to not do it again is all they'll get, until they are caught again.
