Frankly, I had the same question. How many of Milletto's customers will put money into a parking meter to stop at his coffee shop? Wouldn't it be less expensive to use a drive-thru coffee place? I'm not a coffee drinker so it's very possible I don't understand someone else's dedication to drinking a certain brand.
I do agree with you in that the city is only interested in collecting revenue. In fact, I had to chuckle at the reporter's statement "so that's why the city is taking action". Bottom line. The only time the City of Portland ever "takes action" is when the city government smells money.

I don't like the newer vehicles either. So many look alike with differences only in the taillights or headlights. That being said, here are a couple of suggestions. Buy small "spot" mirrors and stick them onto your existing side mirrors. I've been using spot mirrors for the past 25 years on all of my autos and they can be life savers. Secondly, before you park your car in a parking space, think about what you may not be able to see when you back out of the space. This may cause you to move to another space or, if possible, back into your chosen space. If you back in, it's easy pulling out. And, last but not least, don't be an idiot and have "stuff" hanging from your rear view mirror. This "stuff" easily blocks your view of oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, etc. Use common sense and you'll be a safer driver.
I'm sure I'll receive tons of TD's, but I have ZERO respect for these so-called teachers. You are so correct. They care about no one else but themselves. It's all about their wages, endless benefits and retirement funds.

I always chuckle when I read posts such as yours. Are you so naive to not realize that every single home/building built in the entire world somehow has displaced an animal/insect/plant, etc.? Do you really believe that your home or apartment did not displace an animal when it or the buildings around it were originally built? What makes another person's home "urban sprawl", but yours is not?
Well, that will certainly put a stop to the crime in Portland. Way to go, Sammy. Your creativity is without equal.
Not to mention what physical challenges the future will hold for him. Yes, there's a great deal of money involved with these players who leave the league early, but, sometimes, all the money in the world can't buy health.
