Stripping away all the pretentious posturing and adjudication from both sides on the issue of campaign finance reform, you're left with the rather unfortunate reality that the "elites" of all persuasions share one thing in common...a fundamental mistrust of the American electorate's ability to separate the truthful "wheat" from the rhetorical "chaff".

There's an honest-to-god Pulitzer waiting for the first investigative journalist with cajones enough to draw back the curtain shrouding the abject capitulation of the media in 2004.

It is not by chance that a 2004 version of "The Making of the President" will never be written. Too many skeletons to hide.

Not sure but...at least certainly the entire male population of physically eligible college attendees and anyone else who successfully managed post-graduate deferments during the Vietnam era.

There's nothing inherently wrong with deferments per se...but a track-record of "mis-speaking" and passivity in correcting a smorgasboard of overblown media reports on the true nature of his service?

Exactly "Who" did the "asking"? The teacher AS WELL AS the material?

Did the TEACHER actually act as a recruiter and ASK "students to sign up as interns for" OfA or is Pamela jumping to an unfounded conclusion? This was, after all, a "government class" where such material might serve as an example of political activism (actually not a bad example) and, it appears, that the material was outdated for current "recruitment" purposes anyway (it was in preparation for "Winter 2010" activity...which is NOW...and handed out on Jan10, 2010?...huh?).

Something just doesn't compute.
