Clearly, the news industry should have more protections, more money, less accountability and absolution of all moral responsibilities. Just ask any news executive or employee.
Give me objective news and I'll pay for it, plain and simple. Give me agenda driven news and I'll smile as the industry topples.

The question is not about religion at all in my opinion. Last time I checked atheists were just as good at killing mass numbers as the most fanatical of the religious (Stalin and Mao for example). It is not religion or the lack thereof that justifies violence or not, it is human nature to be violent when there is something to be gained or something you have is threatened. If what drives a man to violence from a religious, or political idea, or maybe the safety of our family - we can always find a reason to do harm. I think "good" people do their best to avoid violence. For myself, violence would be reserved for defense of myself, another, our country, and the basic American principles that our soldiers have so often given their lives for.

Simply stated, violent people will find a way to be violent or a cause to be violent for.

I, like most atheists I know are NOT liberals. This is not to say that many are not afflicted with the disease of liberalism. There is usually ways to tell what type of atheist you are dealing with. It's simple actually. Ask the atheist this:
"Do you think the world would be better off if fewer people were believers in a religion?"
The conservative or moderate leaning atheist will answer "no", that atheism is a choice and not one that would be good for the masses. To these atheists, the 1st amendment rules and they (we) would rather be wrong on the "god" issue than right.
If the atheist answers "yes", then slowly back away.... This is the atheist that knows better than you and will have no problem dictating to you their agenda, and pointing out what they think are flaws.
In other words, the "good atheist" wants you to choose, express and live your own religion, the "bad atheist" has a better plan for you, his plan, and wants you to abandon religion in favor of their views - we "good atheists" call these people secularists because they want you to live a secular life. The "good atheists" just wants you to live YOUR life.

It will be alright in the end though - in the world of human nature, the best always shine out, if the notions of individualism, responsibility, accountability and enterprise are correct, we will always be here to wage this battle.

Man that Franken is funny. He's everything we need right now - levity and ignorance in a chamber full of the the uppity and pompous.

Geez - Republican or Democrat, I would just like to see them return safely. We all know the libs havn't the courage to do anything about a situation like this, problem is, neither does the conservative part of the country. While I am disappointed that my friends on the right have to wish for the suffering of a couple of journalists, it's utterly pathetic that DocChuck and his ilk would like to see fellow Americans beheaded - now there is some change.
