Terry's submissions to ETS (one co-written with McLean):
2008
2009

"It is widely accepted, even by the IPCC, that the 1998 temperature spike was due to a strong El Nino in the Pacific."

hmm, has anybody told Bob Carter?

Only Tel of boycott mobil so we can reduce CO2 emissions fame?

Surely this is a matter that calls for an actual scientist? Why, pray tell, no contribution from the NZC"S"C science advisor, de Freitas? Come Chris, what do you think?

Fantastic. I thought this one had died. Reading it I felt like Orbell must have felt.

I had this discussion via the letters page of the ODT a few years ago with a fellow who finished with an apparently irrefutable: "...CO2 too small an amount to have an effect unless the laws of chemistry have changed since I was at university in the early 1940s".

Well, as it happened, the "laws of chemistry" had changed since then. It is difficult to get this across to a non chemist but it was essentially the same as an astronomer in 1670 saying "The planets are perfect spheres and move in circles around the Earth unless the laws of astronomy have changed since I was at university in the early 1610's."

Top effort girma, keep it up.

I haven't seen Ken Ring's "CO2 is too heavy to rise so levels must be falling" for a while. Would you care to revive that one as well?

From our Bazza - as you say in the footsteps of teh grating Bob Carter.

(submission to Feb 2009 Select Commitee)
"Despite the predictions of the computer models, there has been no warming this century. After cooling from 1940 to 1975, the global warming trend peaked during the 1998 El Nino."

(submission to ETS Select Commitee October 2009)
"The cooling of the last 11 years is incompatible with model projections."

Actually, now I think of it, admitting that 1998 was high due to El Nino is not Bob Carter's style at all. Come on Baz, get with Bob's program.

Bazza has plenty of other howlers for giggles. Read 'em and weep. Both have fullsome CVs attached. Read em' and giggle.

Steve, in your ETS submission you said: "On the contrary, there has been no net warming since 1998.". Do you still believe that?

You haven't read anything by Vince? Shame on you. The newsletter is lol. Perhaps this is where we differ: I read the things I slag off.

For the record then, please give your own opinion of Vince's output.

Personally, I see no evidence of a decline in his faculties with age - I have examples of his denialism dating back to 1992 and he has been consistently inept for at least that long. Consistent to the point of monomania - how many comments was it? Truly, Vince is our very own Seitz.

1) I have little doubt that young earth creationists are disproportionately climate deniers but actually we don’t usually know because, the funny thing is, most know their views are risible and keep quiet about them. Denialism is their way of getting back at Science.

2) As always, the deafening silence from the “scientist” deniers will speak volumes.

Steve,
Remind us again why we should take you seriously given that you say things like

there has been no net warming since 1998
