Hi, babushkablue:
This was my fiancee's accident. She survived, but our lives have been turned upside down from this event. This might be a very difficult thing for me, but part of me feels I need to get the details. She had a seizure, while driving over the overpass, is what caused the accident. Would you be willing to talk to me, about what you remember of the accident? Her name was Jennifer Becker. She was a grant writer for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, stressed from work, from our relationship, from her family's recent problems back in Maine, and she just sort of forgot to keep up on her anti-seizure medication, and it hit her right then, right at the overpass over I5. Jen never did anything small. Our lives have come apart as a result. Her parents are still here, helping her recover. She's got a traumatic brain injury, and I don't know her anymore. But I would like to understand what happened that night, more than I do. Would you be willing to exchange email, or talk over the phone? Meet for coffee? I will drive to where ever you are. This event changed so many lives; if you were willing to tell me more about it, maybe I could get my head around it. Just a few minutes of your time, of what you saw, what you know ... it would help. Believe me, you could not hurt me more than I've already suffered. But if I knew more, it would reduce the demons in my head. My email is domingo.mrtnz@gmail.com ; I hope you find it in your heart to help quiet the hell in a stranger's soul. If you can not, I would understand. But I have not been able to talk to anyone about the actual event. Just the two months in the Harborview ICU. The first night, spent there alone, watching her spill from the Emergency Room tray onto the ICU. Watching her head drilled. Her eyes ... It was hell realized. I just want to understand what you saw, please. What other people saw. How they helped her or failed in helping her.
Those were my pillows, on the road. That was my camping stuff, strewn out on the road. That was the woman I was going to marry in June this year. You don't know the depths of hurt something like this creates.
Please tell me what you remember of that night. It would help.
Thank you,
dm
