This is not a surprise and it is a sad commentary on the state of our society ; I sure hope all of you who say "you should be ashamed and have helped that couple" have ridden the busses from the south end to the north end / eastside any time in the past 5 years ; Because if you have not, you are sheltered from the crap bus riders face every day and you don't know what your talking about

I get approached EVERYDAY and asked for money by thug-wannabees (its been from different races but the majority of the time, it *is* usually a black person ; it is hard to believe you dont have bus fare when you have a $500 cell phone and $200 dollar pair of Nikes on btw) ; I've seen guys get on the bus, take out pot, and start rolling joints ; I've seen them get one and start drinking 40oz cans of booze.. I've seen people so obviously out of their minds get on the bus that i've wanted to scream in frustration at them and beat them senseless as they harass other riders or even the drivers.. The reason you don't see many people help out in these situations is because any given psycho you see on the bus probably has a weapon of some type.. They are also ALWAYS around the transit centers, are never usually alone, and Hey..you gotta ride that stupid route EVERY DAY.. They WILL remember you..They WILL come after you..

i've seen fights break out ; I've gotten into the Renton transit center in time to see dead bodies in the road and crime scene tape being put out because someone was figthing over a cell phone. It's becoming a "Mad Max" world out there, we just haven't nuked ourselves back to the stone-age yet.

All that being said, these thugs that hang out at the transit centers are black *and* white...and hispanic...and asian...and "Insert ethnicity" here ; the transit centers often have people at them who have just been let out of jail (i've sat quietly next to many 'thugs' who babbled loudly the entire time about thier recent time in jail, court sessions they just came from, and who they beat up/shot/etc to be in the trouble they were in ; Its like a badge of honor for these fools) ; Go look around a transit center sometimes ; You will see a handful of "commuters" who all are looking ahead, waiting for a bus/train, and usually a larger handful of people that all look angry that they didnt make the audition and were cut from being an extra in a "gangsta" rap video

Its not a racial issue so much as its a decline in the intelligence of our society as a whole, a general lack of respect that these idiots have for ANYONE, and a false sense of entitlement that so many of these violent "gangsta's" of any race feel. i've talked w/fellow bus riders of a variety of different races ; We ALL feel threatened by these little thugs and punks. One woman i spoke to told me how she was approached earlier that day by one of these punks and asked for money. She told him no, and then noticed the gun in his waistband.. He seemed to consider her for a while, appeared angry but then left her and started asking other people for money.. i was approached last night and asked for money and answered "sorry, i never have any change" ; his answer was a glare followed by "you got any bills then?!" i was alone, it was mostly dark and for the next 20 minutes, he randomly circled the area i was in, several times coming back to 'read the schedule' (that was not there btw) ; finally another bus showed up and several other riders were near me and one of the super useful security guys finally appears from his cigarette break and this guy stalks off...i'm sure i was close to being attacked last night.

Its been years now of riding the busses around here, dealing with this crap ; I think i'm going to look into carrying a weapon of my own..

i'd assume the gender of "Christopher Scott Wilson" was male..
