This year really seems to have flown past and I like you have not reached all my goals but I find they have changed and I did more soul searching to be in a better position to actually set myself up for the long haul.

The thought of having less money is often worse than the reality. The problem is that the thought comes during the divorce and has a lot to do with the war that can happen over the finances.

I have worked as a divorce coach for the last 5 years and it's a great job. There are all sorts of divorce coaching professionals, collaborative being one. People who are not in an amicable divorce need divorce coaching as much as those going through a collaborative divorce.
Programs change from coach to coach but all coaches have much the same motivation and that is to help people throw the process and out the other side with as little emotional and financial hurt as possible.
It is a shame people do not understand that the money they spend on coaching will save them on lawyers, procrastination and anguish.

I think if you can stay out of court and work things through without either feeling like they 'lost' then you will/should be able to communicate about parenting issues into the future without it starting a battle.

I have been through this and really it is your own guilt that you need to get over and then enjoy the fact that the father can buy things you can't and don't need to stress over.

Finding cafes and restaurants where single people hang out is a real help. go out to breakfast or lunch on the weekends and you will soon find yourself enjoying your own company as do the other singles around.
