A population "boom"and subsequent housing shortage does not equal an intelligently designed city with a elegant/contemporary theme and direction. I am happy for people like yourself seeing returns on your investments, but I am speaking of the direction of the city itself. A mess of a mall is an example of another missed opportunity in this city the just doesn't seem to carry a consistent direction.
Regarding housing prices and rent .. considering wages are NOT increasing anywhere near the pace of housing market in general, it will be interesting to see how tenants are able to keep up with the extra $250-$400 a month so many of these properties are calling for. In order to make the rent/mortgage payment tenants will likely be cutting back dramatically on spending at local retailers. Seems like a "bust" scenario for all in the long-run. CO seems to embrace the spastic "boom" economy and learn little from the "bust".

Im all for the legalization, but it appears to be too much responsibility for the average demographic (or IQ) in this state. It will be interesting to see this story continue to develop.

Longmont couldn't find its ass in a room full of mirrors. Perfect location for a thriving town and they keep puking all over themselves. This being another example. What are they going to plan for the old Butterball property .. an electrical substation or something of similar attractive value? Beautiful view of the rockies .. St Vrain runs right through town ... and with the planning and direction of this town we might as well be on the Kansas border.
