We need better informed voters. Most voters vote for the candidate from their party or vote for the one already holding an office without knowing how they voted on bills. I have an uncle that is against abortion and defict spending, for lower taxes and a strong national defense, yet always votes for the Democratic candidates. Until the voters become better informed, I fear we will continue to be stuck with the caliber of officals we now see in Washington.

I spent 32 years as a police officer so I know what you mean. We depend on congress to pass laws that make sense, but what we often get is somthing totally unenforceable. That is because most members of congress have their own agenda and could care less about the people they are suppose to represent. They know that the majority of their constituants either don' know or don't care how they vote. Once they are in office, all they have to do is pass out a little money back in the home district and they can keep getting re-elected for as long as they want to hold office.Untill the majority of people wake up, there is not much hope of stopping them.It has reached the point that I no longer vote for the best person but the one I think will do the least harm. Next election, if both candidates are about the same, I think I will just not vote for that office. We may not be able to vote them out of office, but if enough people just skiped them, maybe they would get the message. If only 75% of the people who vote in an election voted in the congressional race, maybe they would wake up.

Obama is a snake oil salesman. "Buy this for one trillion dollars. It will cure all your troubles.I t provides jobs, pays for your house, gives you free medical care and cures hangnails" The problem is, like all the bills congress has passed, no one knows what is in it. I'm worried that his magical cure my destroy the economy. Every bill he wants passed has to be done as quickly as possible or we will be in a crisis. He wants them passed so fast that neither congress or the public has a chance to see what is in them. This is not transparency.
