Nobody's stopping you from feeding the children around the world. Go do it. I encourage it. I do it all the time volunteering at local charities and food banks, and also have been on group missions (not religious ones) to Africa and Colombia. Great experiences. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy sports and have a beer with my friends and other local citizens of this City for a common rooting interest while helping out the local economy.

The arena will bring thousands of jobs, millions of dollars to the city and its small businesses, not to mention, keep alive a truly rich fanbase that the Vikings have for their beloved team. Also, will bring in concerts, conventions, and host events like the super bowl, basketball tournaments, etc. Why do we work so hard in life, if we can't dish out a few bucks to enjoy life with the citizens of the cities we choose to live in? Its people like you why our beloved Sonics left town with their 41 years of history. Right now, our city would be rejoicing together to watch a team that was ready to bring home several championships over the next few years, creating a buzz in our city and boom for local businesses. You should read the whole proposal - that $200 million of public funds is going to be generated from the arena itself. Meaning, tax money that would not exist if the arena didn't exist. You need to buzz off negative nancy. Take your negative ways to another discussion board. The rest of us are excited about a $300 million gift into our city which will create thousands of jobs, and millions of dollars of revenues for the city and its businesses.
