Perhaps because the pasteurization of milk prevents it from being a cause of food-borne illnesses.

"I'll never forget the day we stuck around to talk to our pastors after a luncheon they were throwing for a class that had just graduated. First we got invited to share in the lunch. So we stayed to help clean up. My senior pastor washed every dirty dish in the place. I volunteered to take his place. He wouldn't let me. He wanted to help clean up too."

Substitute pagan words for some of the above and I've experienced the same thing at rituals. This behavior isn't limited to Christianity.

"What does it mean to be a servant?" Taking a bunch of crap from people who are more powerful than you are, more wealthy, etc., waiting on them hand and foot - hoping all the while you'll get a few crumbs thrown your way...
