I'm pulling my hair out! Please help me someone.
I have just updated my 3g to 4.2.1 and now I can't seem to get my iphone to recognize there's any music on the there. If I sync photos, apps, contacts, anything else but music it's fine. But music, Itunes will say there is "so and so" amount of gigabytes worth of music but my iphone will say there is none. So after googling around for two days I can't seem to find a resolution. I want to do a full restore. Being as how this is 6.2.1 I can't do a factory restore. Is there any custom ipsw's for 6.2.1 for a 3g? Or are there any solutions to this problem i'm facing?

tl;dr music isn't recognized on 3g, want to do a custom ipsw restore, where can i find one?

Thank You Dev Team! ... for not forgetting PC users this time! I often complain with every update that there is no mention for pc users i.e Redsnow, but this time ... I am a happy tyke. Thanks again for working hard for us.

there isn't a ultrasnow unlock for 4.1

13 years ago @ blog.iphone-dev.org - texs1n: ank3l · 2 replies · +1 points

correct. There is no way for pc users to use a pc to keep their baseband if you want to upgrade to 4.1 or if you are already at 4.1 to change your baseband or even "UNLOCK" your 4.1. You should be waiting for ultrasnow to unlock the 4.1 This might come in november when 4.2 comes out. Keep your eyes peeled then.

it works properly but very slow. and I don't know anything about apple disabling it. Cydia does give you an option to disable multitasking. on 3.1.3 i used backgrounder to do all my multitasking needs via a 2g with horrible ram and it worked faster than my 3g is currently with multitasking. The difference is, multitasking puts those app to sleep or hibernation till you open them again, backgrounder doesn't instead will have them running fully in the background. Gotta be careful with that though and i'm not for sure if backgrounder will run on 4.0 os. You can look into that.

this is true. Might consider. Probably won't because now that rock is gone I don't wanna to spend forever downloading all the essential apps from cydia all over again.
