Had a terrible thought today, hopefully someone can settle my nerves on this: The government is the largest land owner in the U.S. They have set aside millions of acres of land that is rich in resources that can not be harvested,drilled, or mined by Americans. If other countries want the U.S. to have collateral for our debt and we default, will these foreign entities then have the right to seize all this land along with the oil, coal, natural gas, or whatever. Someone please tell me that I'm way off course on this.

Taxes: 0% corporate taxes would make U.S. companies more competitive. Besides, dividends are taxed (that's double tax on the same dollar). Plus it is figured in the cost of goods. I think either the Fair Tax (consumption tax) and/or tariffs should fund government. It's not fair that only legal above-the-board workers be penalized for working. I'm not being disagreeable, but did want to offer this alternative for consideration. I despise Income Taxes in general, but consider our progressive tax system an abomination.

1. Twelve-month probationary period for all elected officials. An elected official could be fired if the employer (We The People) realizes One Big-Ass Mistake America has been made. If it's good enough for new hires in the real world, it should be good enough for politicians as well.

2. I like the complete true concept of the FAIR TAX. See Fairtax.org

3. Protect the border: Land, sea, or air.

4. Bill the U.N. for rent, police actions, and any other expense this org has cost us. The U.N. needs to compensate the families of our soldiers who have died carrying out the enforcement of their resolutions.

5. I'm on the fence about severe term limits...heard good arguments from both sides. I believe that wish #2 will eliminate at lot of problems.

6. Give the citizens of the state of Georgia tax-exempt status for preventing the 60 seat majority the White House wanted in the last election........Just kidding, but could you imagine the mess we could be in right now.

I agree. We need to make this president a very "Lame Duck" in 2010. However, don't forget about the primaries and get the correct opposition in place.
