NOW... to defend the audiobooks... I listen to tons of audiobooks. partly becuase i love to read, however, i can't read all the time... SO since i am constantly driving, I use to live an hour from my job, I use the audiobooks to read.. While yes, some of them are not that great... there are/have been some really good audio-books... Some with full cast, others with just one person... For instance "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, as read by Paul Michael was really good. This was done prior to the movie, and the way Paul did the lines, you could almost hear Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou in thier respective parts (Hence why i think Tom Hanks was a good choice)
Now, audiobooks are no replacement for reading, but sometimes you can't read everywhere you go.

I perfer to build my own, with my own unique design, cost slightly less... HOWEVER, i have never considered the sound effect board from the cheap toys... must look into that.
