I do believe Sullivan has taken the focus away from Zola & the team..... but maybe in good way!

I don't know what Sullivan's motivation was for his original statement... You can speculate whether it was to undermine Zola or to motivate players ...

But I doubt that Zola and the team will get much stick tomorrow. It's looks like Sullivan is going to take the heat for the team... Intentionally or not I don't know...

But a win tomorrow, and his comments could look rather shrewd...

We're making assumptions as to what motivates players...

Yes a lot will see their futures away from West Ham, but if they are to earn next year what they are getting now they will have to work pretty hard.

This is the problem that football has... you're saying Parker is worth 60 grand a week because Wayne Bridge is getting 120 grand....

Chelsea and Man city wages cannot be used as measure for what a player is worth...

I'm sorry, as good as Parker is, he is not worth £60,000 a week to us In the long run..

They would try to find a new employer, but I doubt they will find one who will pay them 3/4 of what they are getting now... Why do you think Neill took so long to find a club... Parker & Upson will not get the same money even if they were playing for a top 4 side....

I would be quite happy to swap our position with Brum's 4 month's ago... even if it meant being relegated to get there...

Investing money on players that you can't afford only gets you into trouble in the long run...

For Birmingham, getting relegated was never that much an issue because they could afford it... Which meant they bounced back, and everytime they bounced back they were stronger.

If we have to take a few steps back to go forward then so be it..
