A solid start to the show. The taped bits were great. When Will Ferrell started singing, I expected him to break out the old leprechaun outfit. But I guess that would have alienated Leno's demographic.
I don't know what's worse: the logic of throwing off your helmet before jumping onto a helicopter, just so you can mug for the camera, or the editing that cuts from him running towards the chopper at full bore to a shot of him accelerating from a standstill.
I've missed Conan over the past few months, but I'm not looking forward to having to choose between Conan and Colbert.
My mistake. i guess I've come to associate bright images with CGI and darker images with stop motion.
Then I stand corrected. Huh. I must have assumed they were CGI because of the bright colors. Most of the stop motion animation I am familiar with is pretty dark.
The CGI fish in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou took me completely out of the movie
I love how everything in this show is so deliberate, even the company names. Beneke Fabrications is kind of clever and the name of the chicken restaurant, Los Pollos Hermanos describes Walter and Jessie perfectly.
Maybe Wolverine only became ruthless and animalistic after he got the bullets in his head. One of them could be lodged on his compassion center. Kind of like the crayon in Homer Simpson's brain that makes him dumb. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if there were crayons lodged in the writers' brains.
It was advertised on the Amherst Cinema website for about a month. I was planning to go until something came up.
