Oh thank you very much, that is very kind of you. But the trash comes from all over town, people dump all over where ever they can find abandoned property . People who have abandoned properties outside city limits can leave their belongings, no posting, no fence and never pay a dime to clean up what they own, or they just hope someone burns it down that is cheaper. I have found bags of trash, found addresses and phone numbers, funny how they don't know how their trash got in the orchard. They need to know what comes around gos around. Catching them in the act is great.
No groups needed property owners will do. I have paid for and hauled off trash and unwanted items that have been dumped in our orchard. Sorry but when people are going down freeway they will see if it is appealing enough to stop.
Oh I hope to win, but too we do have some new stores in town, they both are on 4th street so that is a start. The orchards on Toomes are owned by someone else, who lives down south. They more or less have abandoned the property.
I agree on the rent prices, rent them until business takes off, our government isn't going to help us so we have to help each other. Look how long the Heritage Square has set empty, Subway has been there from the get go, now Fosters moved in glad to see that. Being on the Hwy. is the best place to make money and get the traffic. It would take some creative people to get something good enough to go downtown. The Olive logo great idea until you drive down Edith and see the olive orchard that looks like a land fill and can be seen from freeway. Then you go around the block and across from the beautiful new school on Toomes you see 2 olive orchards that are dried up fire hazards and becoming a dumping ground. Are orchards like the homes with weeds? Dont they need cleaned up too? I know all this cost money to clean up but maybe the county / city can help. I have lived in Corning all my life its sad to see the businesses that were here. I don't know, but I would love to open a five and dime store with American made products wonder how that would do??
Oh I agree, I think all the propaganda in the windows of some of these stores is trashy looking too. I have lived here for 51 years and I used to be able to go to a second hand store, a shoe store, a western store, and now nothing, And I am sorry but if the name of the business is in Spanish, I will not go into it. I hope this all works out so that Corning has a future that is better than what is going on now. I think I may start going to these meetings.
Mexico needs to pay the bill here.
Mexico needs to start paying for the clean up. There has to be a better way to stop the growing before it starts. All the wildlife are dead and the toxins are in the soil by the time the plants are pulled. And its like every year they grow and they get arrested almost like its planned time to change it up a bit.
Why can't the runner up take Mr. Lopez's place?
Thanks for the flags anyway.
This chick is in the paper more than the president, toss the key...
