Can we please have a link to the original article? I would expect the "opinion piece" link to do be just that, but it is just an internal Breitbart search. Searching the global times for the quoted quotes results in zero... but that is using google, so who knows how those lovebirds are meshing today.

It's not written that way now. Why do you think a rewrite will be read correctly in 100 yrs? It is not as if our writing ability was lacking and it is improved at this point. Rather, it is a cognitive issue.

If you want constitutional, you need to draft Judge Napolitano. There's not a Cpt Ahab capable of winning that battle throwing liberal harpoons. I'm almost surprised they haven't tried locking him in a box, yet. The man carries so much brass everywhere, I can't believe he gets through TSA. It's not like they can't see it.

Michael Vick is a felon, and though he can't vote, he can run. Not sure he's that popular though.

You seem to know less than zero about the man. Listen to his speeches at least a little before presuming his motivations, declaring his actions as racist, and hoping he does the right thing. For the record, he calls it (paraprhased) slavery, a methodically laid out modern day plantation to create a permanent, if financially incapable, illegitimate child-having, please sir may I have some more, how we dun get stuck in this mess, can you save me mr democrat, voting block. He goes further and says it is a deliberate act to create a result, total control and dependence, crushing the individualist spirit of man.

His language is much stronger than yours on the subject. You must be a communist or something. We'll see how you act in the future /sarc.

Uh, we trusted the demand side with those fools currently squatting on the supply that you want to let off. It only works if you kick them out of the supply and then keep them out of the demand until we know we're winning the game. That's why foreclosures F up your credit in the first place. You just screwed up the market, so you gotta sit out a few years.

We do need to gut the supply market, by gutting these freeloaders from their homes N-O-W, not by doing neverending paperwork reviews. You missed 6 payments? Out you go. No "did they send you 5 notices or 6?" That's why nobody ended up being helped by the Obama loans restructuring. The good person that just got in a little deep was a myth. Willing theives, and those too stupid to own. Those are the only categories. All parties should be accountable, not just in the corporate and political sector, but in private dealings too. You cannot allow these shenanigans to have no enduring penalty. See bankruptcy law and repeat bankruptcy. Madness.

Homeprices still need to dive almost 20% as a simple necessity relative to median income. Current homeowners who can't do math cannot not do math their whole life waiting for prices to rise up to a fantasy level again. "Be careful what you wish for." Hell, open excel and see what happens to your sell value when interest rates hit say 8%. You might want to go ahead and get selling now if you're concerned about prices going down by market pressures. With the FED planning on doing a little inflation game soon, you might want to look at rates up until '81. Your house will be worthless until incomes catch up.. Have you seen the unemployment numbers and thought "Geez, I'll bet a big COL increase is coming soon, maybe a bonus too!" I doubt it. The good news is that while you're holding a worthless house, it will be hard to kick you out if you can't pay and eventually income should catch up and someone will buy it... from your kids.

The people who would benefit would not be current owners? Fantastic! They are not owners, nor are they "owners in the making" if they are foreclosure victims of any kind. They are deadbeat debtors. Get them out and let responsible people in. Get them out before they steal the fixtures, the cabinets, destroy the plumbing, let their dogs crap on the floor, etc like I've seen.

Look, with cars, someone shows up and your car just ain't there in the morning. You know why, because they sent you bills. This is with 10x-20x the value of a car. A SWAT team and a moving truck is in order more than a national solution to save the irresponsible at the expense of everyone else. I don't care what major city you lived in. If you bought a home between 2002 and 2007, you are a fool and paid a fool's price. You didn't look at the price compared to medain incomes and ask WTF?! The math did not work, at all.

This is a socialist idea, where blame is shared and future risk unidentified(future lsosses shared again) not a Tea Party one. Pffft.

Property ownership is not a right, it is a privilege that comes with responsibilities. First among them is paying your mortgage. How many of these fictitious good people didn't have the money for their mortgage, but somehow maintained the property beautifully.. or did they fall into neglect, ruining any chance of recovering losses on the loan? Hint: go visit foreclosures in your area. Bring societal blinders, a barf-bag, and a gas mask. Even in the richest county, USA... the experience is not even safe for your health. I know this firsthand.

People should get out from under and into an apartment, where they might make ends meet... and maybe someday learn to save and buy property at a price they can afford.

My objection is well grounded. I sat there for the better part of a decade living in lousy apartments because I had half a brain. I saw that the market was retardedly upside down. We're talking 30%-100% out of bounds, not "oh I was doing the right thing". I waited for this to play out so I could pick up a home at a correct price.

Why should the SOB's that can't do basic accounting, have no basis for responsible behavior, be treated as if they did anything less than spend beyond their means and collectively tank a large portion of the economy. Why allow they same stupid borrowers to re-enter the bidding pool knowing they just bet the house, literally, and lost?

To the contrary, I'd like to see them all in debtors prisons. Anyone that did anything more than buy say 5% beyond their means and lost a job should be made an example of, not forgiven and put on equal footing to artificially raising prices again because they can't do basic accounting. We know from experience these people can't do basic accounting. They may be your friends, and they may be smart, but we know they cannot do basic accounting. Period.
