What I thought WAS a serious crime was hiding the records of government transactions -- isn't there a law that public officials have to preserve their records -- for the national archives? To prevent the backroom deals? Isn't that why they have to conduct business over the official servers? Wasn't there a big outcry over this during the Cheney administration?

But maybe I'm wrong. Napolitano has never talked about this aspect of the case. Is it a law or not?

Basically, he seems to be saying that because Israelis regard the whole world as out to get them, it's best not to disturb them with anyting so unpleasant as a boycott.
