Be nice to your Moslem neighbors and try not to eat in front of them during this time. You can go to a restaurant (where they won't be) or in your car or at home to eat. Don't invite them to lunch this month, but don't skip lunch yourself.
Your Moslem neighbors will be hungry during the day. If they are cranky, it's probably due to hunger, so just let it pass.
I love Moslem people, but I've seen to many cruel things justified in the name of Islam to ever be willing to become one. I am glad to be a Christian and I want to die a Christian. Most of all I want God to view me as a Christian (a little Judiaism mixed in is OK, since Jesus is Jewish, and Christianity sprang out of Judiaism and the Jews are God's chosen people). Sometimes I do partial fasts of not eating certain things. But during Ramadan, I feel that I must not do any fasting at all. I always know when Ramadan is because the Moslems population is high enough that this Islamic holiday is announced on TV, on the internet, or in a newspaper.
Children can do terrible things if it's done to them, or if they're taught by an abusive adult, or by viewing pornography. It's tragic. This kid will probably need a lot of help to become normal again, otherwise he'll have to be institutionlized because he can sexually abuse other children. But kids don't think this stuff up on their own, they don't have the hormones to think these things up. An adult either sexually abused them, or taught them how (which is child abuse too), or they got a hold of some porn and learned that way. There definitely needs to be an investigation to find out who did this to the child and made him like this.
If I lived in the town where this is going on, I'd be participating in the protest. Euthanasia is evil.
It's doubtful that he was a Christian! When a nut case shot people in Arizona, the hate mongers immediately claimed that it was the work of a Sarah Palin fan who was inspired to do what he did by her. This before they even had a clue who did it or why. When it was proved the shooter was a nut case with no political interest at all, and he hardly even knew who Sarah Palin was, did the hate mongers retract their story? Not on your life. Why let a good slander go to waste? They are quick to call this new anti-life creep a fudametalist Christian, but it seems that he was more likely a mason. Will there be a retraction when he's proved not to be a Christian? Probably not. Again, why let a good slander go to waste? Those who are desparate to stop people from believing don't want you to have a good impression of Christians. That's why they try so hard to make Christians and Christianity look bad.
This could be the excuse she needs to fly the coop. Not that it'll be easy. She's probably been trained to think of herself as unable to cope in the world. She'll be scared to leave. But it'll only get worse for her if she stays.
An abortion won't help with these issues. All it'll do is kill her baby and send her back to the same disfunctional environment she came from. It won't give her anything to improve her independance, or her emotional health.
There are a few issues in this woman's life that would not be addressed by the abortion. The biggest issue is, why is a 21 year old woman still living with, and dependant on, her parents? Have they systematically disempoweed her for years? Are they afaid of losing her? Or worse, are they afraid of losing control over her? In any case this is not an emotionally healthy situation for the woman. Unless this changes, it's an emotional situation that will get worse for her, not better, as time passes. This will be true even without the complication of abortion, because adults need their independance in order to be emotionally healthy and not go around the bend with frustration. The fact that her parents are controling her and making important decisions for her against her will, using their financial power to enforce their will, only aggravates the problems for this woman. She feels she can't live as she wants to. She needs to find a way to break away from her parents financially. A Crisis Pregnancy Center can help her do this. They may be able to point her to resources in the community.
What did women do before there was a knowledge of how to do abortions? When abortion wasn't an issue because nobody had heard of it yet, women didn't think that they were being forced into childbirth, that someone was oppressing them by compelling them to birth. How did they deal with unplanned pregnancy then? They just had the child and dealt with it. Usually, the maternal instinct kicked in, and the mother learned to love the child, even if she didn't in the beginning.
But in either case, nobody howled about how oppressed they were because nobody provided them with abortion.
What will it take for people to realize that abortion is NOT something that liberates women (born or unborn)?
Pro-choicers might support this woman's decision, but the hard-core pro-aborts will not. Hard-core pro-aborts are NOT pro-choice, they are just pro-abortion. That doesn't necessarily mean they support a woman's right to choose to give birth. Anyone who says, "good for her, she made her choice," is likely truly pro-choice. If you are disgusted with her choice and feel she just didn't get a hard enough sell job pushed on her to have that abortion, then you probably just use the word "choice" as a PR ploy, and are all for forcing an abortion.
