Very good point about grasping a physical object. It's funny because it's something I've always wondered about since I was a child -- what are these pieces of paper we shuttle around and why are they worth something? In terms of the abstraction with Google Wallet and digital money... I've been wondering about that beyond money itself. If everything is turning into 1's and 0's -- even our brains, one day, according to a recent guest -- what does that mean for the physical world?

Hey lowelife. Interesting ideas. What immediately occurs to me is how does a piece of paper make the idea of money behind it any less abstract?

Hi Patrick

Sounds like an amazing collection you've got. So are you recording your vinyl and cassettes in real time?

Coincidentally, this week I saw the image on the back of Boney M.'s "Nightflight to Venus" for the first time ever. Our senior producer, Michelle, pulled it out. Amazing red and black cosmo costumes! The reason I haven't seen it before... We had the 8-track!

Happy dubbing to ya.

Hi Russell. All very good points. Before producing this piece, I didn't think about the notion of the proximity to a musician through a handmade piece of art. Short of the experience of live shows, I've only ever connected via the music itself. But I don't remember seeing recordings packaged in such artful ways as they have been lately. And by the way, the "unedited unedited outro" is now a rare thing itself. That was the result of me working too late last night! I fixed it this morning :)

LOL - "Digital is masse, vinyl is klasse." Thanks for your thoughts Ian. Interesting to know what's happening in Deutschland.

Hi Charity. Aye carumba! This file is teaching me many lessons in humility. The upload got interrupted, not sure why. New one on its way. Thank you!

Hi Jim

You're right. It does get crunchy. I'm going to fix that right now. Thanks for letting us know.
