People don’t know what to expect from this year’s elections in May. I think this should be carefully studied because Latin American relations can be transformed with Colombia’s next president , making Latin American integration stronger or preventing it from happening.

I would like to point out that a country that has been preventing that integration from happening in recent years is Colombia. President Alvaro Uribe Vélez has been definite with his support to U.S. policy and his interest to maintain a good relation with that country. Meanwhile his crescent disputes whit his neighbors leave Colombia segregated from that integration.
President Alvaro Uribe was elected in the year 2002 and reelected in 2006. He was seeking for a second reelection but the Constitutional Court declared that the amendment of the Constitution, which allowed a second reelection, was unconstitutional.
