It is definitely not a “portable scanner”. It is fairly heavy, and they take great pains to warn you not to pick it up by the head which makes me think that the moving parts in the head are on the fragile side. That being said, if you are careful and have it packed well, there’s no reason you COULDN’T take it from place to place.

Glad it helped Jeffry! Interesting that Windows 8 has it too.

ePost is good (I use it for some things), but I don't think it will automatically save the document to somewhere like Evernote or Dropbox do you? You still need to go download it manually, but at least it consolidates it to one place.

Great tip, thanks.

Wise move SteveC. You can also export to .enex, but the more backups the better. I suspect a lot of people using Offline Notebooks don't even think about that.

Hi Philippe, I haven't tried it yet but check out SteveP's comment above: http://www.documentsnap.com/how-to-backup-your-sc.... I suspect that will help.

I wouldn't say that so strongly. It's just that many people don't feel comfortable keeping their sensitive documents in the cloud, Evernote or otherwise.
