Not always. At least not in this case.

Like I thought, any real action beyond blogging on your part is beyond you. What makes you think I haven't already done clean-up or removed graffiti? Actually there are a bunch of us that already have. And your service has been what? Maybe you should look around and pay attention. Those that are donating and doing more than there part are going unnoticed by you while your blogging.

LOL, maybe you need a couple friends... petty, petty, petty, just excuses rather than action.

This photo is outdated. There is a new one on the local paper in Bremertons site and all over Bremerton on telephone poles.

Looking at the comments, it appears they already have friends and their new hobby is getting the city to do the right thing.

Seems like his tactics worked as you're still running blocker on the issue. Just think how much of the trash and mess you could have cleaned up by now.

GreatBirdHunter: And your community service donated has been what? We're not talking about your government check either.

Nobody is talking about inflating values. What the issue that comes into play is that if surrounding properties are allowed to remain in a blight or the neighborhood is graffiti covered it has a significant effect on property you are seeking financing for. If city allows Bremerton to slide backwards by not requiring the ugliness be cleaned up, it affects all in the area, businesses and residents alike.

It's not just my properties and business interest it's all. Think of the people that are in financial trouble do to a job loss or some other economy related issue. It sends them into a worse position. If they need to sell their house or office building to stay afloat, they can't get the best price for their property.

The local paper just did an article that the countywide properties slid 26% this year. I think addidng to any further slide by not cleaning the trash up makes things worse.

With the property values sliding, it is squeezing most business activity out. City of Bremerton should be looking at anything they can do to improve the problem.

Obviously you've never applied for a commercial loan. Your asset values (properties) play a large part of seeking future financing. When your asset values take a dump, so does your availability for funding. Even with a perfect pay history your bank also looks at your asset to debt ratio. Better known as "can the bank liquidate and get out whole if the loan goes down".

A bank making a sound loan looks at collateral value as well as cash position.

You must work for the city or you'd understand that already.
