Interesting - Boulder will figure it out -- the hard way. I am amazed at the lack of stability in the program compared to the other schools around - why is that?
Going strong? - Eaglecrest is a real power? Why did Boulder go play in the high school division in metro Denver instead of the traditional strong northern league with graduated players - Greeley GoJo, Rocky Mountain, Fairview, Etc.?
Also - why is Boulder hosting the Regional? Don't you usually try to line something like that up with the year you have a strong team? My guess is that the Rapid City tournament will be a pretty good indicator of what will happen in the Regional. As for Sedbrook - did he leave or did he not have a choice to coach the team?
Hmmm.. looks like both side are taking the high road on this dispute. Thought, based on the headline, there was some controversy here. Good job to Sedbrook from refraining from letting them have it. This is not the first time the BHS parents have not let their coach do summer. What makes them the expert over a guy that played pro ball and has the heart to lead this program to a place they have not been for many years?
This team/coach makes so many excuses. Why can you not just settle with - you had a great year? It was the best season Monarch has had in baseball in many years so enjoy it. Quit making excuses. Is that what you want to teach your players? You came up short. Deal with it. You went further than any other team in your league!
What text book company stands to make $$$$ on this? BVSD just spent millions on math textbooks and I have been told that they don't align well with the PARCC math tests. Anyone go a few extra million bucks to buy the books that the test company sells?
Let's see - miss an equivalent of a week of math and of English class (as much as a whole chapter of curriculum that now can't be taught) to take tests on math/english instead. Commenters, insert analogy here:_________________.
Jealous much? If it is so easy, go get your teaching degree and impact your community in a positive way instead of your preferred negative way. Impacting kids and teaching them what they need so that they have careers "better" than that of a teaching career gets accomplished because of teachers in the first place. If it were up to you, you would just chop out the very thing that helps get professions you consider to have value. Now that is smart reasoning. Medical benefits have to be purchased at normal rates after retirement by the way. You are wrong about teachers getting medical for life - Not in Colorado. Thank you teachers for all you do and for teaching kids to be smart enough to become engineers and such!
Yes - blame the teachers.. ever been in a school (since you graduated) ?
You are connecting the wrong dots G... The decline in Education is not because students are protesting taking meaningless tests, but rather for a multitude of societal related issues.
20 Square miles surrounded by reality... Most cities would be lobbying Google to come to their town with such a project, but Boulder is going to make it difficult. Those buildings in the drawing look a heck of a lot nicer than many buildings around. Maybe we can put a turkey factory there so we can get some low paying factory jobs in here that require lower priced housing that they still can't afford and will still have to drive in from far east of town. Quit trying to social engineer our 20 square miles!
