It looks to me like you are talking about two different things. Yes, I see the evidence of FEMA camps being set up at military bases to house victims of another hurricane. Hmm, to me that sounds like our government is planning ahead for another natural (or unnatural) disaster. That would be a good thing (except it shouldn't be the federal government's job to do this)

I also see detention camps to house illegal aliens awaiting deportation. Although I don't see why we can't just kick the butt over the border without having to waste more money on them, this is also not a "prison camp"

But, when people like you take this information and call them "Prison" camps you incite panic.

I don't see any proof in your list of barbed wires and torture chambers being set up. If I missed it, let me know. Otherwise stop spreading the myth and go find something else to worry about.

And those of you that just gave him a thumbs down without looking at his "proof", shame on you. Don't ever blindly believe what you see on TV without listening to others and/or doing your own research. Not even Glenn.

Hear, hear. You got it right sallietoo. Wear whatever you want, just be there. jholcombtx, I think you are missing the point. We have to start somewhere. Nothing is going to change overnight. It will take a long, hard effort and tea parties are a great place to start. They are getting people involved that haven't gotten involved or made their voice heard in a long time, if ever.

People ! Read the pupose of this board! If you want to vent, go to another board. This is for short, to the point lists of to-do items. People want to come here to see other's lists, not have to wade through all these comments and vents.

1. Term limits--2 terms for Senate, 3 terms for House
2. All bills are for one topic
3. Prevent amendments to bills that add cost to the bill
4. English as our official language
5. Institute E-Verify with more enforcement and stiff penalties for hiring illegals
6. Fair Tax
7. Eliminate capital gains for 1 or 2 years to get people investing

I came across a pretty good website to find out what our congress is doing. Some of you may already know but for those that don't. Go to http://thomas.loc.gov.

It is amazing how unproductive their days are. But, if you want to know who argued against the Omnibus bill and what they said. It is all there, unfiltered by the media.

I am currently looking up how to write a bill. Boy do I wish I would have paid more attention in my social studies class in high school!

Anyone else think we need to reduce the size of the bills being voted on by congress?

Some of them are just out of control and we really don't know what our representatives are voting for. They vote for something in one bill and against it in another.

I think it would go a long way to accountability if we had one idea, one bill, one law.

Just a idea to throw out there.

I think it would go a long way to accountability if we had one idea, one bill, one law.

If we need a new bridge in KY or whatever, then make the bill, discuss it and vote on it. Our congress should be voting on a lot of little bills each day, not taking days/weeks to vote on one large bill.

The voters could then see exactly where our representatives stand on the important issues.

Just an idea.

Don't wait until 9/12, there are tea parties going on all over the country on 4/15. They need to hear our message soon before Polosi puts together another "bail-out" package.
