We moved out as well but are renting our house in Portland. If this passes our renters will see a $150/month rent increase to cover it. I'm just about to the point that selling that house at a loss, preferable to dealing with Multnomah county and Portland.

Although we do have a high income tax rate, nearly all the states on the list you linked to *also* have a sales tax. If we're going to do a comparison lets at least total up the total income from all sources and not just pick and choose the ones that are going to support whatever point we're trying to make.

Don't drink the cool aid on either side, get the facts and make up your own mind.

Except it wasn't. Oregon's stores are private, the wholesaler is the state. In Washington the stores themselves were run by the state. I'm all for private wholesalers or buying direct but let's not assume that we have exactly the same situaltion as Washington.
