Yes, that bathroom would be gutted if I moved in. It's a shame but it's just too much. Lindingo, one shouldn't have to adjust to motion sickness in their own house.

I agree that it has some issues. Being in the cold north is number one. I also agree about the guest bedroom and bath. Between the striped ceiling and the ghastly geometric walls and ceiling of the bathroom, the guest will think he's on a bad acid trip. It's a shame that you'd have to tear all those tiles out to make it livable. I do like the room behind the garage and the kitchen.

Those geometric tiles have got to go. Not exactly a calming atmosphere in that bathroom. Then the "on-line" fridge gets sold on ebay. Nothing like having a fridge that spies on you and makes all of it's contents available to anyone hacking into it. Why make a refrigerator so complicated? Do I really need software to keep my butter cold?

Out with the old, in with the new, I guess.

I don't think you are understanding what a wireless bulb is. You still need to plug it in. All that is controlled by the tablet is whether it's on or off. You have to have a power source and that is still an outlet.

No cash option on this home. If you win, you'll have to sell the home to pay the 200K taxes.

Tax bite is 200K + or -. Depends on your home state.

Eugenia, you may think you can afford it but I just looked at the tax burden for winning this sweepstakes. It comes to about 200K depending on what state you live in. You will probably have to sell the house to pay the tax bill. HGTV used to offer a buy-out option so if you wanted, you could take cash instead of the house, but not this time. Otherwise, you will be paying a mortgage on your "free house".

Yes, I agree that the Hi-tech has gone overboard. Most of the things that are done from a phone or tablet can be done with a hand and that eliminates motors, circuits, electricity. Simple things are made overly complex, which leads to the probability of failures and expensive repairs. AND all remotely controlled devices easily lead to hacking. Those door locks that you activate with your iPad(because it's so hard to turn a key) can be hacked by someone else. Do we need fridges that monitor our purchases to call back to General Foods? Why do you need to adjust your thermostat from another location if you aren't there? Sometimes smart is stupid.
