What a racket.

The government loans money to the banks.
then does a "stress test" and says you need more capital.
Then says to the banks Give us stock or we will pull the loans and make you bankrupt.

I thought the money going to the banks were to "free up" the credit market; not to become the owner of them

Liberal play book.
Rule 1
Try to sneak stuff by the citizens.
Rule 2
Be shock and outraged when the citizens find out.
Rule 3
Attack the person that is giving the information to the public.
Rule 4
Compare the person to Hitler, Stalin, or Joe McCarthy.

Looks like they are down to rule three with Glenn Beck.

Do we want people who are going to make a career in government? I think that is part of the problem we are having now.
Do you think the "quality, i.e. brains and common sense, of your candidates" can be lower then it is now?
I would rather have somebody who has worked in a real job i.e. non-governmental, and knows that he/she will be going back to the private sector afterwards. It will help remind them that they are a temporary steward of the office.
There are many good people that don't run for office because the incumbant has so much powere that they will get reelected unless they are totally incompetant.
Term Limits are needed.

$850,000 in total compensation is not unreasonable for the (CEO) Postmaster General. The US Postal Service employes over 600,000 employees and has a budget of over $75,000,000,000.
The Postal Service biggest problems are the laws that it must follow which reduce its ability to make a profit.
Congress mandates that the Postal Service completely prefunded the retirement system. (completed)
Congress mandates that the Postal Service completely prefunded retiree's health benifits. (2.9 Billion a year)
Congress does not allow the Postal Service to close unprofitable Post Offices.
Congress involves itselt in any reduction or change with the Postal services plants and Bulk centers.

Not being able to re-elect a good person will be a possibility if we have term limits; but if we have term limits of say 8 yrs as a representative and 12 yrs as a senator that would give someone up to 20 years in Washington. Hopefully during that time we will be able to find additional office holders that speak for the people. Currently congressmen and senators create their kingdoms and try to consolidate their power. Very few of them speak for the people, and those that do get drowned out by the rest.
Additionally I think that those who are in Washington for these extended terms we have now lose touch with the people that they are supposed to be representing.

Better to send them a letter.

Question: If it meant that America would collapse economically as the rest of the world unpegged from the dollar, would you support staying out of a global economy?
Answer: Yes, We MUST keep our own currency; otherwise too many of the decisions being made are out of our hands. Our economy will recover is we do what is right. Don't tie ourselves closer to Europe and the rest of the world.
