And by "peruse" the author of the picture caption of course meant "looks extremely closely at; examine in detail", right?

Keep preaching to your base, big O: stoners without jobs who owe their futures to the gub'ment. Get those votes! Get 'em!

How is her life ruined? She'll get off. Where's the statute against "reaching for a cell phone." If she has a conscience and feels bad about killing a child, then that's about all the punishment she can expect here.

The mother needs to be charged in this. The abuse went on for weeks? Where was she?!! She never changed her baby's diaper or gave her a bath in all that time?!!

And that neighbor Ella Morgan is a piece of human trash. She sat in her trailer smoking cigarettes all day, listening to a little baby "cry into a big scream" and did NOTHING. What kind of human being does that and can live with herself, then gives an interview to the local news?

This is a story about malfunctioning human beings at every level. Utterly repulsive.

Did Volc say something bad about homeless people? Other than that scenario, I can't imagine any other reason BPL wouldn't want her around.

Female bosses can be particularly vindictive and unforgiving in the workplace when they have personal conflicts with people "below" them. I wonder if perhaps Volc did something - anything - that ticked off Maginnis and she let it balloon into a situation like this. Speculation on my part, but Maginnis' explanation for letting Volc go just doesn't make any sense in relation to someone so clearly beloved as Volc. Just add extra story times with your paid employees (a.k.a. minions), and let Volc do her thing on another day. That would be the simple solution, so the fact that this got so convoluted should set off some alarms. Usually when the explanation for some questionable action or behavior doesn't have that "rings true" feeling for the listener, there's more going on behind the scenes.

To paraphrase Elaine from Seinfeld: "Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fakefakefakefake."

She's faking the mental illness, and didn't want the son. So why feel sorry for her?
