Now that I think of it, my girlfriends and I used to cut each others' hair in college, to save money. (We all had long, straight hair, so it wasn't complicated.) I just realized what a hardened criminal I am.

JMO, but you're not taking all of the facts into consideration. If State A runs a 25% tax rate on businesses but State B runs a 20% tax rate, a company would keep more of the money it earns by moving to State B. This might enable said company to offer lower rates on their product, compensate their workers a bit more, buy business equipment or even keep more profits for stock holders. Say the company earns $3 million annually. In State B, they'd get to keep $150,000 more of that money than in State A, which they could then choose to reinvest in the business.

I was deeply offended by Karen Bass's take on this, basically saying that it's a boys-only kind of thing. "I think it's a little bit of a 'frat' kind of thing." No, it's about saving, and wanting to save your constituents' money. You sound like you're feeling rather elitist, Ms. Bass.

I think it was a vast right-wing conspiracy involving Limbaugh, Beck, Palin and Cheney. Or it will be if the MSM bothers to report it.

A history professor once explained to me that the paradigm shifts in politics, when you look at them from a broader viewpoint, are like the movement of a pendulum. The pendulum swings in one direction, then swings back in the opposite direction. Thinking of the political history that's taken place in the 39 years I've been on the planet, I've noticed that there is much accuracy in his statement.

I really don't get rewarding people for their parents breaking the law, either. If your parents brought you here illegally as a child, you didn't do anything wrong, so you should totally be able to find a way to legally return to your country of birth. Then, get on a waiting list to return to the US if that's what you want.

I don't know that he's really Muslim; I think he's more agnostic than anything. He claims to be Christian, because being otherwise might cost him an election. IMO, his biggest problem is that he is faithless.
